My whole life, I was overweight and inactive. I couldn't run for more than a few seconds at a time and I lived for food. I'm Italian, so food is such a big part of who I am! But, it was taking over my life. In the photos above, you can see how unhappy I was behind those fake smiles.
I had always felt pressured to lose weight. Even though people may have had good intentions, this type of pressure wasn't actually motivating me to change - it was just making me feel worse about myself.
One day, when I was about 17, I realized that I was going to keep gaining weight for the rest of my life unless I changed something. I used that summer in between school years to change my life. I spent time researching online the different ways to lose weight. I looked for proven methods - if I was going to do this, I wanted to be sure it would work.
As I began to lose weight, I realized that I didn't feel as restricted as I thought I would. I could still eat food I loved and still lose weight - I just had to be smart about it. It took about 4 months to see a drastic change in my body. I felt so empowered when I realized the way my body looked and felt was completely in my own hands - the key is just to KEEP GOING.
As a result, I was a much happier person and I felt so free. I was able to fully be myself.
After I lost the initial weight, I began weight training and counting macros. I learned that I could fuel my body with certain types of food to gain strength, muscle, and shape my body. I also learned that getting fit could be fun!
It took many years of experimentation and continual learning to nail down the best, most enjoyable way to get fit without giving up the food you love! Fortunately, I've already done the hard part and now I'm ready to help YOU!
